It’s Almost Spring Break..

Spring Break is coming up April 4-8. I can NOT wait!! I have been exhausted for the past few weeks. I’m not sure why, but man.. I could sleep for days. I called in sick to work on Friday and slept literally the entire day. Apparently “Teacher Tired” is a real thing.

So, we’ve been trying to figure out what to do for Spring Break. We have considered going to South Dakota, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. Kendall doesn’t want us to go to North Carolina without her, so that’s out. We decided that there isn’t much to do in South Dakota during April, so that’s out. Knoxville/Gatlinburg is about 4 hours from us. New York (where we would be going) is about 9 hours from us, and the beaches are about 9-10 hours from us, except for Florida, which is about 15 hours away. They’re all pretty reasonable.

I wrote out lists of things to do in each place and had the kids look over them. Kendall’s Spring Break was this last week, so she doesn’t get to go with us. Connor wanted to go to Myrtle Beach and Haylie picked Tennessee. Everything that Connor wanted to do in South Carolina was in Tennessee, too. ((I think he just wanted to go to the beach.)) So, we decided on Tennessee.

There are so many things to do in Tennessee; I am having to pick and choose which things we are going to do while we’re there. I had the kids pick their top thing to do each day and we will fill in the rest of the day as we go. So far, we’re planning on going to: The Dixie Stampede, a city-wide scavenger hunt, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, Graffiti Alley, the Museum of Art, The Sunsphere, The Space Needle, and Main Event (bowling, laser tag. and VR stuff). Donald says he’s just along for the ride and doesn’t care what we do.

I literally can not wait to go. I think we are going to have a lot of fun. I haven’t been to Tennessee in years.

9 more school days.. I can do this!!

Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?

If you’ve been to Tennessee, what is a “must-see” there?
