Chapter 42..

Welp.. I wish I could say this last trip around the sun has been amazing.. but y’all know that’s not how I roll 🤣

However, fortunately (or unfortunately.. depending) I’ve decided I’m going into this year in my “no” era. I’m going to focus on me for the first time in my life. I’m single-single and my kids are grown. It’s my time. I’m going to focus on my mental health. I’m going to focus on my physical health. I’m going to focus on my growth. I’m going to focus on my future. I’m going to focus on my healing. And I’m going to focus heavily on my peace 🧘🏻‍♀️

As hard as it’s going to be, I’m going to prioritize myself. I’m going to stop putting everyone else first. I’m going to stop people-pleasing. I’m going to start saying no, with or without an explanation. I’m going to stop feeling bad for not responding to a text immediately. I’m not going to feel bad for cutting people off that talk to me in a demeaning way.. ie: if you mansplain something to me before you even take the time to find out if I’m educated on it.. ya know.. because I’m a girl.. that’s probably the last conversation we’ll have. If you text me something that doesn’t warrant a response, I’m probably not going to respond.. Don’t get offended. If you text me and I don’t respond right away, and you then proceed to get an attitude and act entitled, like you’re God’s gift and “deserve” a response, simply for being you, that’s probably the last message you’ll ever be able to send me 😉 I’m not going to feel bad for removing toxicity and negativity from my life anymore. I’m choosing to protect my energy. Sorry, not sorry.

If anything or anyone threatens my peace, that’s gonna be a no from me dawg ✌🏼

I’m going to choose to do the things that make me happy:

• listening to music.. and hopefully attending some concerts

• writing.. maybe I’ll finally start that book I’ve been putting off

• streaming and playing video games.. yes, I virtually shoot people to relax, while you smoke the Devil’s lettuce 🤭

• going to the gym.. this one is self-explanatory

• watching the sunset and ogling the moon.. if you know me, you know this one is also self-explanatory

and

• hanging out with my friends & family, etc.. I’ve got a lot of time to make up.

I’m gonna make the most out of this year. I deserve it ❤️
