Happy International Women’s Day!! What the heck does that even mean? International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Go us!!
All day today I was trying to think of something to write about. I was thinking about what it’s like to be a woman. I got nothing.
I think I am one of the lucky ones who has never struggled just because I am female. Maybe it’s because I grew up as “one of the guys” and had mostly guy friends? Maybe it’s because I watched my mom kill it. Maybe it’s just the time period in which I grew up. I’m not sure. But life as a woman hasn’t been hard for me. There isn’t some thing I can think of that I haven’t been able to do just because I am a woman.. except for streaming.
Being a female in the streaming industry is tough. Like, really tough. If you aren’t naked, you don’t get views. People say that girls “have it easy” and that views are “handed to them”. That’s not the case. Girls like me ((that are actually clothed)) have to work twice as hard for views and follows. I have found that girls don’t support other girls because of jealousy or something else, and guys don’t support unless a girl looks or seems easy. It’s actually insane. I see so many females supporting male streamers. If only they got the same support back.
I’ve never worked in a male dominated workplace, so I can’t speak on that aspect; I have always worked in a place that had equal male and female employees… Until now. I work in a school that has three males in the entire building.. The principal, the PE teacher, and the SRO. Let me tell you.. Working in a building full of females is rough. I have come to realize that women are super catty. People don’t like you if you don’t have the right name. If you aren’t from here, you’re considered an outsider.
Making female friends is hard. Really hard. And it shouldn’t be. Women need to be supportive of other women, no matter what. We are all in this together. We’re all dealing with life, in one way or another. We’re all going through struggles and need our own cheer squad. I try to support women in every aspect of their lives, whether I know them IRL or not.
Women HAVE to stick together. We HAVE to do better. We’re all out here trying to make it.

What woman do you know that is a rockstar?
Why do you think it’s so hard for females to make friends?
