Happy Monday!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Ours was pretty chill.. Donald got home from work late Friday evening, so we didn’t do much.. just played some MW. Saturday was basically the same. We streamed for a few hours.. ((if you wanna check us out, we’re live most days.. click here to watch some terrible gameplay with some semi-humorous commentary!!)) Sunday was kind of a busy day actually.. we went to my parent’s house to pick up a new bedroom set. Came home and replaced the old with the new. I am in love!!! Our bedding matches the new bedroom set perfectly!!
My youngest daughter had an appointment at the therapist this morning. It was her first visit. She’s been really depressed lately, so we are trying to get it under control now before it gets any worse. She was extremely nervous, but I think the next visit will be better. I won’t be in the room with her at the next one (I have an appt at the same time next month).
Anyway.. I’ve never understood why people hated Mondays so much. I get that the weekend is over. I get that you have five days of work ahead of you. I get all of that… But… It’s the start of a new week!! A new week to make memories, a new week to regain your focus, a new week to set and accomplish goals, a new week to find any motivation you may have lost, a new week to tackle whatever problems you brought with you from the week before.. Mondays are a fresh start.
Did you know? “Monday gets its name from the Anglo-Saxon word “mondandaeg” which translates to “the moon’s day.” The second day of the week in Nordic cultures was devoted to worshiping the goddess of the moon.” (cbc) I, personally, love the moon.. I always have. I could literally stare at it for hours.
Mondays are ruled by the Moon, and the Moon’s characteristics consist of Moods and Emotion. “If we follow the belief that each day is ruled by a specific planet, we understand that each day holds a specific vibrational frequency. To take this a step further, we may be able to enhance our days by taking specific actions on appropriately aligned days.” (Symbolic-Meanings) Mondays should be for getting in touch with your feelings, being mindful of your moods, purifying your surroundings, and showing compassion.
We, as humans, struggle with those things anyway.. so doing it on a Monday could, quite possibly, seem impossible. But it definitely wouldn’t hurt to try. Try to be more mindful. Try to be more compassionate. Try to understand. Take control of your surroundings. Try getting in touch with your feelings… *Feelings* yikes.. Who likes to talk about their feelings? I don’t. Ever.. But hey.. if doing so could make your Mondays even the slightest bit better, wouldn’t it be worth it?
Just some things to think about. Maybe it’ll change the way you think and feel about Mondays..
Honestly… Monday only sucks if your attitude about Monday sucks…
