Update..

Time for a little life update. So much has happened in the past few months. Life’s been a little crazy.

The Deputy Registrar at the DMV in Ohio where I was working decided it was time to retire. The lady who took over for her chose not to keep any of us, so we were all out of a job.

What the heck am I supposed to do now? Good jobs are so hard to come by in this area.

My boyfriend and I had been talking about me moving in with him when Haylie graduated high school, but that wasn’t until May/June. I told my parents about my situation with work and they told me that I should just move now. It’s only six months until she graduates and they’d be around if the girls needed them.

Soo.. I packed up my essentials in a rental, and moved to Alabama in November. I know, I know. It seems like I’m always moving. But.. I’m hoping this is the last move. For a while, anyway. I left my house and my car for the girls, so they’d have a place to stay and transportation.

I had been job searching for a few weeks before I moved but hadn’t found anything. I checked the county website every day, waiting for an opening at the DMV here. No luck.

I checked the site randomly one day and there it was. An opening in the license department. This is perfect. I applied immediately. I don’t think it was two hours later and I had an interview scheduled. The interview went great and they expedited my background check so that I could start that next Monday. My first day was December 4th. The pay isn’t spectacular, but there are possibilities for advancement, frequent raises, and amazing insurance. It’s a pretty good job.

I trained for about a week. I was ready to get on the computer after two days though. It’s a lot different than Ohio. We do everything here: tags, titles, mobile homes, etc. We only did licenses and tags in Ohio. I got the hang of it pretty quickly and easily. We also have about 40 people in the office here, compared to the 5 of us in Ohio.

My 90-day probation period ended yesterday. I can’t believe it’s already been three months. It’s gone by so fast. I’m loving it, though.

Life here has been pretty freaking amazing. I’ve literally never been happier. I’m still a little crazy, but working on it. The girls are doing okay. I haven’t been back to Kentucky since I left, but now that my probationary period is up, I can take some time off to go up there and see the girls.

But anyway.. that’s my little life update. I hope you’ve all been well, too 💜

✨Remember.. Life is way too short to live with regrets. Get out there and do the things you want to do. Take chances. Live your life. You only get one.✨
